(Hollywood, CA) You know the end of the world might be near when a famous Hollywood actress gives a porn movie a boost in sales but that’s exactly what might be occurring following the July 4th drunk driving arrest of television’s Three’s Company star Joyce DeWitt in Los Angeles.
The beloved actress who plays Janet along with her apartment mates Jack and Chrissy are the subjects of X-Play’s hilarious blockbuster porn parody Not Three’s Company XXX which hit #1 on numerous sales charts recently. The alleged July 4th arrest of DeWitt for drunk driving as first reported by television news magazine TMZ would seem likely to cast a dark shadow on the porn version of the popular sitcom but instead has helped boost sales prompting the movie’s distributor LFP Video (Larry Flynt Publications) to order a new batch of DVDs.
“I’m not sure what just took place but by the end of the day today we were asked to start another replication run which means we’re completely sold out,” stated Jeff Mullen, president of X-Play.
The adult movie feels like a lost episode of the TV show when Jack loses his restaurant job the kids can’t afford rent so Chrissy picks up a night job leading Janet, Jack & the Ropers to think she’s become a hooker. “I feel sorry for Joyce DeWitt because I think she’s a wonderful lady and we all loved her as Janet in Three’s Company but it’s not a good idea to drink and drive,” said the movie’s award-winning director Will Ryder.
Controversial adult actress Penny Flame wonderfully plays Janet in the porn spoof and could not be reached for comment but prompted this comment from Ryder.
“I think Penny Flame did a wonderful job capturing the essence of Janet and her interaction with Brynn Tyler who plays Chrissy is just great and I’m sure that Ms. DeWitt would be thrilled with both performances if she were to pick up a copy of our movie. All of our sitcums including Not the Bradys XXX, Not the Cosbys XXX, Not Bewitched XXX and the upcoming Not Married with Children XXX are done in a good natured way and intended to entertain and put a smile on people’s faces and a bulge in their pants which this movie definitely does plus anybody wondering what Janet looks like having sex can find out in a hurry.”
